About The Position

As an Access Control Officer at a residential community, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and support residents and guests with clear, professional communication. You will complete routine patrols, document activity, and respond to security-related concerns while maintaining a highly visible presence. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential community.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor and vendor access credentials, and maintaining required logs and reports.
  • Monitor cameras, intercoms, alarms, and other access control systems; report suspicious activity, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to the appropriate parties.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with resident concerns and coordinating with property staff and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or hazards, and document observations per post orders.
