About The Position

As a Security Officer - Healthcare Screener in Harrisonburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Screener in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment for all. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to support a secure atmosphere, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by greeting visitors, patients, and staff in a professional manner while following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Conduct health screening procedures for all individuals entering the healthcare location, which may include asking screening questions and/or taking temperatures as required by site protocols.
  • Monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain an orderly flow of people entering and exiting the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate according to site guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of screening activities and report any concerns to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership as required.
  • Support emergency response activities in accordance with location protocols and Allied Universal training.
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with all individuals encountered, providing assistance and information as needed.
