Job Description As a Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol Rounds in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all. Your visible presence and strong communication skills will support hospital staff, patients, and visitors. This is a driving post, so you will operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the security-related needs of the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related issues and identify any concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel and/or management.
  • Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and monitor visitor movement within the location to help to maintain order and support site policies.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on all security-related activities, incidents, and observations during the shift.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and Allied Universal team members to address any concerns and support a secure environment for all occupants.
