About The Position

As a Security Officer - Healthcare Grounds Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a major public healthcare and government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. You will monitor assigned areas, communicate clearly, document security-related activity, and respond to calls for assistance, reflecting Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring culture, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access, loitering, and/or disorderly conduct.
  • Monitor entrances, corridors, and other assigned areas for unusual activity, and/or potential policy violations, and report observations through approved reporting channels.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs, and assist staff and visitors with directions, access processes, and/or other routine requests.
