As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, conducting patrols, and maintaining a visible presence. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control measures.
  • Assist in helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity by monitoring access points and verifying credentials as required by site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and surrounding areas to help maintain a secure environment, with patrol frequency and routes as directed by site management.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and public officials as necessary to support access control and security-related functions.
  • Remain alert to security-related risks within the location and promptly escalate issues to the appropriate contacts as outlined in post orders.
