Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Patrol Driver in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where access control is key to daily operations. As a driving post, you will greet staff and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and manage entry points while staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will also conduct routine patrols, document activity, and communicate clearly with site leadership and local partners. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS – Tuberculosis test/MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control entry and exit points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, maintaining access logs, and directing staff, visitors, and vendors to proper check-in areas.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, and document unusual activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items, and complete required reports.
