About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Pontiac, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor entry and exit points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and support smooth traffic flow. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. Allied Universal is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entrances by verifying identification and authorization, managing visitor check-in and badging, and maintaining entry and exit logs.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing vehicle and foot traffic, assist with delivery and shipping and receiving processes as assigned, and report suspicious or unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, documenting events, and supporting site response plans.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
