Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Portland, OR , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle entry, and document activity while supporting smooth operations. You will perform routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at vehicle and/or pedestrian entry points by verifying identification and credentials, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining entry and exit logs for personnel and deliveries.
• Coordinate with site contacts and dispatch to help manage inbound and outbound traffic flow, direct drivers to staging areas, and report irregular activity related to loading dock and yard operations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting events and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
