About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location in an Access Control post. You will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage gate activity, and complete security-related reports while maintaining a visible presence and conducting routine patrols to help identify and address concerns. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting AU Driver Policy requirements. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
  • Control access at gates, dock entrances, and building entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, managing visitor and vendor logs, and directing traffic flow for deliveries and pickups.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, access control alarms, and radio communications to help identify and report unusual activity, unauthorized entry attempts, and operational disruptions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services and completing required notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify security-related concerns such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, and suspicious activity, and document findings in daily activity reports.
