Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access in East Syracuse, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will manage access control by greeting associates and drivers, verifying credentials, logging visitors, and monitoring entry and exit activity. You will remain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and report concerns to help support smooth operations. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor check-in, issuing badges when authorized, and maintaining required logs.
- Monitor inbound and outbound traffic flow for a logistics and distribution location, including coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams, checking delivery documentation when assigned, and directing drivers to designated areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting events and notifying the appropriate personnel per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading dock areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
