About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a food and beverage location, you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and document entries and exits. You will remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, monitor assigned areas, and communicate concerns to site leadership. Bring agility, reliability, and integrity while supporting a caring, people-first culture through teamwork and professional customer service.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by following site-specific access control procedures at a food and beverage production and/or distribution location.
  • Verify identity and authorization for entry using badges, visitor logs, sign-in procedures, and/or credential checks; issue temporary credentials as directed and track returns.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian entry at gates and/or dock areas by checking bills of lading, appointments, and/or shipping documentation and directing traffic flow to designated areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities and communicating with site leadership and/or local responders as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, staging areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns, documenting observations and reporting issues per policy.
