Job Description As a Security Officer - Gate Access in Torrance, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal team member assigned to access control at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Lifting up to 20 pounds is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform access control duties at the chemical and petrochemical location, verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and visitors.
Assist in carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and client site leadership.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting employees, contractors, and visitors as needed.
Document observations and incidents in daily activity reports and/or incident reports as required.
Support emergency response activities in accordance with site-specific plans and Allied Universal guidelines.
