About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gate Access Monitor in Olathe, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer in a logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by greeting associates and drivers, checking credentials, managing visitor and delivery logs, and helping regulate entry at gates and docks. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols, and report security-related concerns with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit for employees, visitors, and vendors by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
  • Support gate operations for commercial vehicles by checking driver identification, confirming pickup and drop-off information against shipping documentation, and directing traffic flow per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, documenting activity, and communicating with site management and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter, including monitoring doors, docks, trailer yards, and camera views, to help identify and report unusual activity or policy violations.
