As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to reduce security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and team members, respond to concerns, and communicate observations clearly while documenting activity. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, loading and receiving areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
- Monitor customer and employee activity for potential policy violations and/or suspicious behavior, and report concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and/or fire and alarm activations, and assist with de-escalation when appropriate.
- Complete written and/or electronic reports, log patrol and incident activity, and coordinate with management and local law enforcement when requested.
