Security Officer - Full Time Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Full Time Patrol in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support employees and visitors with professional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to concerns with integrity. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, drivers, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas including parking lots, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Control access by monitoring gates and/or entry points, verifying identification and deliveries, directing visitors to check-in areas, and documenting arrivals and departures per post orders.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and service calls in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident documentation, note hazards or maintenance concerns, and communicate observations to supervisors to help support a well-managed site.
