About The Position
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility they protect, which includes safeguarding the life and property of patients, visitors, and staff. This role acts as a visible deterrent to crime and hospital rule infractions, while also being vigilant in detecting and reporting any suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts that may pose a threat to the property, clients, or employees of the hospital. The Security Officer is tasked with patrolling the hospital buildings and grounds to prevent incidents of fire, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, they are responsible for securing, unlocking, and protecting hospital buildings, as well as responding to the security needs of patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all individuals within the facility.
