About The Position

The Security Officer II plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the medical center, ensuring quality patient care through various security functions. This position involves patrolling the campus, providing customer service, and responding to emergencies, all under the direction of the Security Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Security Officer.
• CA Guard Card or CA Proprietary Security Officer Card.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for quality patient care.
• Perform patrols of the medical center's campus to detect irregularities.
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergent and non-emergent situations.
• Conduct inquiries and provide directions to visitors and staff.
• Take accurate field notes and prepare complete reports.
• Perform arrests under the direction of the Security Supervisor as required.
• Provide escort services to patients, visitors, and staff as necessary.
• Respond to various emergency codes (Code Red, Code Gray, etc.).
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas.
• Control and monitor traffic in patient loading and unloading areas.
• Assist Facilities Dispatch during emergencies.
• Lock and unlock department doors for authorized personnel.
• Maintain traffic control in the emergency department and ambulance entrance area.
• Interact with outside law enforcement agencies when necessary.
• Witness the release of deceased patients to mortuary representatives.
• Respond to requests for deceased patient's belongings pick up and release.
