Job Description As a Security Officer - Foot Patrol in Fort Walton Beach, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and guests with clear communication and customer service. Requirements
- Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to store associates, tenants, and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances and exits, stockroom receiving areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
- Monitor for suspicious behavior and policy violations, approach situations professionally, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Assist with access control by observing entry and exit activity, supporting closing and opening procedures, and reporting maintenance concerns such as damaged doors, gates, or lighting.
- Document incidents, patrol observations, and guest interactions in written reports, and communicate key information to site management and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
