About The Position

The Security Officer (FLEX) position at GuardTexas involves safeguarding property by patrolling premises and monitoring for theft, violence, safety issues, and disturbances. The ideal candidate will have prior security experience and be available for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Meet and maintain all licensing requirements for Security Guards
• Pass a Criminal Background Check
• Open availability
• Customer service orientation
• Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations
• Critical thinking and sound judgment
• Visual acuity and hearing ability to observe relevant information
• Ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs
• Valid Texas Driver's License with 3+ years of experience

Nice To Haves

• Security experience in various locations (office building, industrial, school, retail)
• Active Texas Driver's License preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide a visual security presence
• Conduct regular rounds of industrial, commercial or residential premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion
• Perform checks on windows, doors, gates, stairwells, fire exits, and other areas to ensure security
• Inspect equipment to ascertain that tampering has not occurred
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities
• Respond to alarms and report disturbances
• Contact police, paramedics, or fire departments in emergencies
• Inform persons of rule infractions or violations
• Assist in evacuation of buildings in emergencies
• Control crowds as required by job site
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
