Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor campus areas and complete routine patrols to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, support access control points, and provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to discourage unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and observe for unauthorized entry, loitering, and/or suspicious behavior; communicate concerns to site contacts and/or public partners as directed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and/or directing individuals to appropriate resources.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in required reports and logs, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and/or site representatives.
