As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. You will document activities, communicate clearly with your team, and use a computer and/or tablet for reporting. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, noting hazards and unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management processes such as providing directions, supporting check-in expectations, and reporting access concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disputes when appropriate and requesting additional assistance as needed.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
