As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a critical utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors while delivering standout customer service. Requirements

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, yards, parking areas, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or damage.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or work authorizations as directed, and assist with visitor, vendor, and contractor check-in and/or badging processes.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, and/or service disruptions, and communicate updates to the appropriate contacts.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incidents in written reports and/or electronic logs, and relay actionable information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
