As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help manage access points by screening visitors, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and documenting security-related observations using a computer and/or tablet. You will remain visible, provide calm customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or have a college degree.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card license
  • 5 or more years of security experience.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors and staff by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a government location, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Screen all persons entering the facility using walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, X-ray equipment, and/or visual inspections, and control prohibited items per site guidelines.
  • Verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials when required, manage entry lines, and direct visitors to the appropriate areas while maintaining professional communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting the appropriate on-site personnel and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete required logs and incident reports, monitor screening equipment for serviceability, and report maintenance concerns or suspicious activity through the proper channels.
