As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication while documenting observations and responding to concerns. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • Have 2+ years' service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
  • Be able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, hospital policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation support and coordinating with nursing staff and/or local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned hospital areas such as entrances, lobbies, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access through designated entry points by monitoring visitor flow, assisting with directions, and reporting suspicious or unusual activity per site-specific policy.
  • Complete required reports and logs for incidents, patrol activity, and policy violations, and communicate relevant updates to leadership and/or client representatives.
