As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle access, and document activity while providing strong customer service. You will conduct routine patrols and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, communicate clearly with site teams, and respond to concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and access control requirements at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit at gates, guard shacks, and/or lobby checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, and directing vehicles and pedestrians to designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate access control records such as visitor logs, driver check-in documentation, and key control or credential tracking, and report irregularities per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of docks, yards, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
