About The Position

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols and primarily drive between assigned areas to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors with directions and support, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, alarms, and/or disruptive behavior, and request additional resources when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Control access at designated entrances and checkpoints by verifying identification, monitoring visitor sign-in, and/or directing people to appropriate locations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation, communicate noteworthy events to site contacts and/or supervisors, and support investigations by preserving observations and relevant details.
