As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a DCJS license for Virginia only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordination with clinical staff, and timely notification of law enforcement and/or medical responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by verifying credentials, monitoring visitor flow, and maintaining accurate visitor and incident documentation.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as radios, cameras, alarms, and access control, and complete detailed written reports for shift activity, incidents, and follow-up actions.
