As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication and customer service. This role requires an Armed Guard Card or License. At Allied Universal, you will work with a caring team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, delivering through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and patrons by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail property, including sales floors, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Respond to security-related incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting law enforcement and/or medical assistance when needed.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, potential theft, and/or policy violations; write detailed incident reports and maintain required logs, including weapons-related documentation as required by post orders.
• Control access and support loss prevention efforts by checking doors, observing deliveries, assisting with crowd and/or queue management, and communicating security-related concerns to site leadership.
