As an Allied Universal Officer at a busy transportation location, you will manage access control points, verify credentials, monitor entrances and restricted areas, and conduct routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will stay highly visible, respond to incidents, document activity, and provide clear, respectful customer service to travelers and staff. You will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative approach while putting people first through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by following site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, credentials, and/or boarding and work authorizations; issue visitor passes and maintain entry logs as required.
  • Screen and monitor people, vehicles, and deliveries entering restricted areas; communicate access denials and route questions to the appropriate point of contact.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reports of unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, gates, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and support a security-related presence; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
