Join Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location as an Access Control Officer, helping manage entry points, verify credentials, and guide patients, visitors, and staff with clear, respectful communication. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document activity with attention to detail. Requirements

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing foot traffic, and assisting with sign-in requirements per site guidelines.
  • Monitor access control points, alarms, and cameras when assigned, and document unusual activity, policy violations, and maintenance issues for follow-up.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and coordination with clinical teams and local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter when assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
