As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a utilities location, you will support access control by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and tracking entries and exits. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and activity reports with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor, vendor and vehicle logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter of the utilities location.
  • Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms and/or cameras as assigned, and complete detailed reports of unusual activity, policy violations, hazards and maintenance concerns.
