About The Position

As a Security Officer - Facility Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Requirements

• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have a guard card and/or license preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or policy concerns.
• Control access by monitoring entrances, assisting with visitor direction, and/or supporting staff with de-escalation and service-focused presence.
• Complete security-related reports and logs, document incident details, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as required.
