Security Officer - Full Time College Campus
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Facility Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, document activities, and communicate clearly with onsite teams and visitors. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves

- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Access control or badge experience preferred.
- Alarm panel experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
- Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials as required, and directing visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries according to site procedures.
- Document patrols, observations, and incidents in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate notable trends or concerns to the Allied Universal account leadership team.
