Requirements

A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to guests, members, staff, and vendors by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and security-related protocols for a cultural institution.
Monitor galleries, entrances, and back-of-house areas to help to deter unwanted activity, protect exhibits and/or collections, and support a positive visitor experience.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and/or disruptive behavior, and request additional resources when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout exhibit spaces, public areas, offices, and the perimeter; document observations and maintenance concerns such as lighting issues and/or unsecured doors.
Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, communicate post orders and policy updates, and coordinate with site leadership and local responders as appropriate.
