As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns across assigned areas. You will support riders and staff with clear communication and customer service, document observations, and respond to incidents as needed. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a public transportation environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, and service disruptions, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or dispatch.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter prohibited activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle traffic patterns, assist with directions and general information, and help manage crowd flow during peak periods and special events.
  • Complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol activity, and observations, and coordinate with local public agencies and/or transit personnel as directed by post orders.
