As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government library location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will assist staff and visitors with directions and questions, communicate clearly when concerns arise, and document observations. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, support your team, and act with integrity while delivering a welcoming customer service experience.

Requirements

• Have security experience of 6+ months.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site staff and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout public areas, staff-only areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor entrances, check credentials or visitor sign-in as required, and assist with directing guests, deliveries, and contractors in accordance with posted rules and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disturbances and requesting assistance from site leadership and/or public responders when needed.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and policy violations in written reports and log entries, and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
