As a driving post at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document activity, and respond to concerns with a service-first approach. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or volunteers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Support access control for galleries, worship spaces, offices, and/or event areas by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials as required, and directing guests to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification of site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Assist with special events, services, and/or exhibitions by managing queues and crowd flow, documenting unusual activity, and completing accurate written reports and daily activity logs.
