Job Description As a Security Officer - Entry Screening Attendant in Newark, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will help monitor entry points, screen people and items, and support access procedures. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with team members, drivers, and visitors to keep operations moving. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access Control and/or Badge Experience - preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors and contractors at entry points using approved methods such as ID verification, sign-in processes and screening equipment, following location procedures.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing packages, freight areas and loading dock activity for policy compliance, documenting irregularities and reporting concerns through the chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating issues to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain logs of screening activity, incidents and visitor activity, supporting investigations and helping to deter policy violations.
