About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Point Screener in Fort Lauderdale, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer Screener at a busy government aviation location, you will support smooth daily operations by monitoring screening areas, checking credentials, and controlling access to restricted spaces. You will stay highly visible, conduct routine rounds, document unusual activity, and provide clear directions to travelers and staff. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government airport development location.
  • Screen personnel and authorized items entering controlled areas using established screening protocols, verifying identification and access authorization, and documenting screening outcomes as required.
  • Monitor entry points, queues, and screening areas for unusual activity, report concerns through the chain of command, and complete required logs, reports, and/or incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and public agency partners as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around nearby work areas and perimeter zones, as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site.
