As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will be a welcoming first point of contact, supporting access control by screening visitors and property, verifying credentials, and guiding people through entry procedures. You will monitor activity, document incidents, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific government facility access procedures, security-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and deliveries at designated checkpoints using walkthrough detectors, handheld wands, and/or X-ray equipment, and refer prohibited items or concerns to site leadership per post orders.
  • Verify identification, manage sign-in and badge processes, control access through doors and turnstiles, and maintain accurate logs and required documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, reporting, and coordination with on-site personnel and/or public partners.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and perimeter as assigned, observing for irregular activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and document findings per reporting guidelines.
