As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will focus on access control by welcoming drivers and visitors, verifying IDs and badges, managing entry and exit logs, and supporting security-related screening at key checkpoints. You will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and communicate clearly using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, confirming appointment or delivery information, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate logs for people and vehicles entering and leaving the distribution location.
  • Support dock and yard operations by monitoring inbound and outbound truck traffic, checking trailer and seal information as directed by site policy, and communicating irregularities to site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting, documenting, and escalating concerns according to location procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance issues, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
