About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Control Day Shifts in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy manufacturing and industrial location where you will manage access control at entry points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and document activity. You will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents while supporting operations with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control for an industrial location by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or work authorization, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity for employees, contractors, deliveries and/or service providers, verify appointments and shipping documentation as needed, and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
