As a Security Officer - Enhanced Screener in West Palm Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role works with a Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”) where you will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule, requiring a six (6) month commitment. Additionally, you can earn more through the Claim-A-Shift Program by picking up extra shifts via the scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, potentially working part-time hours one week and full-time the next. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Guard card is required.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen visitors, staff, and/or personal property at designated entry points using approved procedures and screening equipment, and report unusual findings through established channels.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professional communication with the public and site personnel.
• Monitor entrances, verify credentials or authorization as directed, and help to deter unauthorized items and/or entry through consistent screening practices.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned, noting conditions that may require follow-up or additional support.
