The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Specialist in Chester, VA, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed. You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule, requiring a six (6) month commitment. In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries entering the location, checking credentials, badges, and authorized access in line with post orders and client guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Monitor entry points and screening equipment, reporting unusual activity, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, noting conditions that could help to deter unauthorized access or disruptions.
