Specifically, the Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Gatehouse role in Savannah, GA, provides reliable and consistent hours at an assigned site, with the added flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. The role operates on a Fixed-Shift Commitment, known as 'Anchor Shifts,' where the employee is hired for a designated site and a weekly shift, serving as a reliable base schedule. This fixed assignment requires a six-month commitment. Beyond the fixed shift, employees can utilize the 'Claim-A-Shift Program' through a scheduling platform to pick up extra shifts, thereby increasing earnings and gaining experience across multiple sites. This flexibility allows individuals to work part-time hours one week and potentially full-time hours the next, with the option to scale back as needed. This position is ideal for candidates looking for part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, credentials, and/or visitor authorizations for employees, contractors, and guests entering or leaving the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or access concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, and entry areas, which may include observing gates, checkpoints, parking areas, and restricted zones in a chemical processing location.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, and/or incident documentation, and help to deter unauthorized entry through consistent screening, communication, and attention to site procedures.
