As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Alarm Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. The role involves a fixed-shift commitment (Anchor Shifts) at a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment. In addition to the fixed shift, employees may pick-up extra shifts through a scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing for part-time hours one week and full-time the next. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a public-facing government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to site contacts and/or local authorities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, galleries, exhibit areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and screen visitor, staff, and contractor entry as directed, offering clear directions and support while helping to maintain site rules and visitor flow.
  • Assist with crowd management, special events, and/or public interactions by providing a professional presence and communicating security-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
