About The Position

As a Security Officer - EMT Certified - Unarmed in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting site procedures. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, caring approach to each shift.

Requirements

  • Possess an EMT Certification.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a guard card or license preferred.
  • Possess CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation, notifications, and coordination with site leadership and/or public responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, assist with visitor direction and/or check-in processes as assigned, and report suspicious or unusual conditions to the appropriate parties.
  • Complete accurate documentation such as daily activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
