About The Position

As a Security Officer / Emergencey Medical Technician in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post, supporting mobile patrols and quick response across the site. Requirements

  • EMT Certification is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate site contacts and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, tank farms, loading and unloading points, administrative spaces, and perimeter areas, with working conditions that may vary by location and shift.
  • Control access by verifying identification, managing vehicle and visitor entry, and directing deliveries and contractors according to site rules.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and activity logs, document unusual conditions, and communicate updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
