Job Description As a Security Officer – Education Support in Pittsburgh, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will also provide exceptional customer service and clear communication, reflecting Allied Universal’s values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet students, staff, and visitors in a professional manner while following security-related procedures specific to educational environments.
Screen individuals entering the location by checking identification and/or verifying authorized access, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
Monitor entrances and exits to help maintain authorized flow of people within the premises.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed according to site protocols.
Communicate clearly and courteously with all individuals, providing directions and assistance as appropriate.
Document and report any unusual activities or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
Support emergency response activities as directed by site-specific policies and Allied Universal procedures.
