About The Position

As a Security Officer – Education Support in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, staff, and visitors in a professional manner while following security-related procedures specific to educational environments.
  • Screen individuals entering the location by checking identification and/or verifying authorized access, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Monitor entrances and exits to help maintain authorized flow of people within the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed according to site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with all individuals, providing directions and assistance as appropriate.
  • Document and report any unusual activities or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site-specific policies and Allied Universal procedures.
